Yesterday (5 August) was a special day for two former cadets of Hindley Detachment. After joining the Army Foundation College Harrogate, to train to be soldiers, yesterday was their passing out parade to become qualified soldiers. After travelling back home they both decided to visit their old detachment to visit their Detachment Commander SSI Sue Sergison and other cadets and staff.

Former Cadets, Ethan Timperley and Chris Evans both said they wanted to visit the detachment. They said being a cadet taught them discipline and gave them the confidence which helped them through their training at Harrogate. SSI Sergison said “I am so proud of these two young men watching them grow. Now they make me look small”.

On hearing that the former cadets had returned to visit their old detachment on the evening of their graduation from the Army Foundation College, Harrogate, ACF Col Cadets, Col Clinton Riley said, “This is belonging, well done to them both inspiring the next generation (of cadets).”

Ethan Timperley will join The Adjutant General Corps (AGC) and Chris Evans will be joining the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME).

We wish them both the best of luck for their future careers.
