The post of Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major is one that all cadets aspire to, and is viewed as the ‘top job’ or the pinnacle of a cadet’s time in the ACF. They are seen as a role model, a leader, a motivator and inspiration to those around them, in particular to the younger cadets. Sally is certainly all of these - and more! Joining in 2017, she has taken advantage of every opportunity that has been offered to her. She holds all four APC stars and Master Cadet, has represented the Army Cadet Force in sports locally, nationally and internationally, and was selected for the honour of Lord Lieutenant of Powys’s Cadet for 2020.
Sally is certainly a motivator and a huge support to her Detachment Commander, and, during Covid, she worked with the other senior cadets there to develop ideas to ‘keep the flame alive’ in her local area. Their plan certainly worked, as Newtown Detachment continues to thrive!
Newtown Detachment Commander, Lt Rachael Jones, said: “Sally always strives to improve. She leads from the front, yet always listens to and supports others. She always smiles and has fun! Sally has a great future ahead of her!”
We know that Sally will do an amazing job in her new role, and look forward to seeing how she develops and takes on the challenges of being in the top job!
Congratulations Cadet RSM Murton-Davies!
