On Thursday 30th September 3 Company held a Presentation Evening for Cadets and Parents.
In attendance on the evening was VIP guest, Cllr George Davies - The Mayor of Wirral, who presented some of the Cadets with their much deserved certificates.
The event had been organised to celebrate the Cadets Achievements from Annual Camp and all Cadets present where presented with their Star Level Achievement Certificates. Awards were also given out for Star Level Best Cadet and Best Shot Award on Annual Camp.
Cadet promotions were also on the agenda and numerous rank slides were presented much to the delight of the newly promoted Cadets. An adult promotion also took place, with 3 Company 2IC (Second in Command) Lieutenant Amy Phipps, who was promoted to Captain and presented with her new rank slide by our Commandant, Colonel David Seddon (ACF).
SMI (Sergeant Major Instructor) Jenny Williams who was presented with her second clasp for her long service medal, signifying an incredible 24 years of service as a Cadet Force Adult Volunteer also received her Cadet Force Warrant. Added to this 3 Company Sergeant Major Instructor (CSMI) Gillison was also presented with his Cadet Force Warrant.
Finally, as the evening came to an end, there were two special presentations made. One was to former Officer Commanding (OC) 3 Company Major J Armitage and the second presentation was given to former Company Sergeant Major Instructor (CSMI) Keith Andrews.
Officer Commanding 3 Coy - Major J Vernon (ACF) told us:
"My thanks firstly goes to the team who worked behind the scenes to make my vision of the evening a reality.
Secondly thanks to the Cadets who attended, achieved, and walked away with a new rank, or star level - you’re all stars!
Finally, to the Parents / Guardians - your unwavering support to the young people is always appreciated in allowing them to unlock their potential within the Army Cadets, so a huge thank you to you all."
