The background of the Ex STEM Challenge
The Ex STEM CHALLENGE is a national Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) event that has been successfully held for the last four years on Salisbury Plain for Army Cadets, (2020 was virtual due to COVID)
This year’s event has had to change to four one-day non-residential, face-to-face events, with approx. 150 cadets attending per day, in order to ensure the event can continue and host over 600 cadets. This is due to ongoing COVID concerns and pressure on the Defence Training Estate going into this Autumn. The cadets will be invited to take part in six stands, each hosted by one of the Army’s STEM Corps Engagement Teams (CETs). Each stand will give a mix of presentations and hands-on challenges delivered by some of the Army’s leading STEM experts in the six specialized areas based around some of the most high-tech military equipment in the world.
