The Suffolk Cup

Information & conditions of entry:

1.WHAT IS IT?

The Suffolk Cup is an annual photographic competition for all members of Suffolk ACF to take part in. It is an ideal way for us to showcase the extensive talent that exists across the county as well as promoting the activities and values or the organisation.

So we are calling for enters – cadets and adult leaders – to submit photos they have taken which "Promote the value of being a member of the County’s Army Cadet Force which will therein enhance the organisation’s reputation amongst the Public from which our loyal and high valued Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAV) are recruited from”.

2 . TIMING

This year’s (2023) competition will close midnight 1st August 2023 with winners being announced at Annual Camp 2023.

All photographs must have been taken between (and including) the dates of 1st February and 1st August 2023.

3. CATEGORIES

There will be 3 categories which can be entered. The winner of each category will then be entered in the ‘Suffolk Cup’.

The categories are:

  1. Military Training Cadets Only
  2. Adventurous Training / Sport Cadets Only
  3. CFAV (Any Subject) Adults Only

4. ENTRY PROCESS

Entries must be made via email to 688prest@armymail.mod.uk as a PDF attachment or high resolution jpeg, and the following details in the supporting email:

Rank, Initials and Surname.

Sub-Unit & Detachment.

Category being entered.

Title of the picture.

Date and location of photograph.

Confirmation of consent (see 6 below).

5. WINNERS

The winner of each category will be decided by a panel of senior staff from Suffolk's County HQ, with the overall winner being chosen by the County Commandant.

The winner of each category will receive a Commandant’s Certificate and Photographic Voucher. The overall winner will additionally have their success recognised by the award of the Suffolk Cup, and have their picture entered in to British Army’s Film and Photography Competition under the "Cadet Life" category.

6. COPYRIGHT AND CONSENT

The copyright for any images submitted will remain with the entrant – but by entering the competition you are agreeing that your photographs may be used at a later date, without limit, for Suffolk ACF’s advertising, recruitment and general publicity, and without payment or fee. Where recognisable images of people appear in photographs, entrants must ensure that they have obtained the consent from any person in their image to be published and used as described in the sentence above. Any subjects featured in photographs must also be members of Suffolk ACF.
