Selfless commitment and creating the next generation of good citizens is at the heart of what the ACF is all about, and we all know that getting involved in our local community is a great way to make a difference, however the fantastic work that we do isn’t always recognised. So we will be holding Community Week from 1-7 April to celebrate the great work your cadets and adults are doing.
We want to raise awareness of the many different ways our detachments help the community, including ceremonial duties and band performances; work to improve the local environment; or fundraising for national, regional or local charities.
There are two key ways that you can get involved in Community Week. We’d like you to:
1. Do something great for your local community or for charity at some point during Community Week, and/or
2. Promote what your cadets and CFAVs have already been doing for the local community over the last year
You don't need to do something new, but it would be great if you could do something different. We have created a Community Week guide to help you with ideas for projects and give you tips on how to highlight the work you have already been doing in the community. Contact email@example.com for a copy and start planning now.
We also have template press releases to help you get started, whether you are doing something new or reflecting back on last year's achievements. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to request copies.
If you are organising activities during Community Week we have a few additional resources to help raise awareness of what you are doing. These include Army Cadets t-shirts, postcards and collection tins.
Resources are available on a first come first served basis. To find out more and to order resources for your detachment click here
