This is a 5 day introduction to open canoeing. Experience your first session on the water; learning useful skills for an enjoyable paddling experience in a sheltered water environment. The course content includes clothing and equipment, access and conservation, weather, lifting, carrying and launching, efficient forward and reverse paddling, turning, moving sideways, manoeuvring the canoe in confined spaces, self and group rescues and participating in a journey.

Eligibility: Cadets aged 15+ and CFAVs
