Who should attend?
• All personnel tasked with producing printed material, such as newsletters or marketing materials for their county or unit.
• Other personnel who have a PR responsibility, who have previously attended the Introductory Course and wish to broaden and improve their skills.
NOTE: Applicants for this course must have previously completed the Introduction to Public Relations course.
A practically based two-day residential workshop, which involves a considerable amount of computer work using Microsoft Publisher to develop the skills required to produce attractive and readable publications.
The course covers the duties of an editor, handling copy and photos, the basics of desktop publishing packages and going into print. It will focus on the creation of a newsletter as a hands-on exercise over the period of the course.
Students should bring with them examples of their own work and any local publications their county or unit has in use. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops.
