Complaints Proceedure
The Army Cadet Force takes all complaints very seriously, whether they come from our adult or cadet members or are made by parents of cadets or members of the public.
If you wish to formally complain about any aspect of the Army Cadet Force you should follow the procedure below:
All complaints must be in writing, signed and dated by the complainant whose name is to be legible.
In the first instance, the complaint is to be directed at the Detachment Commander of the local unit where the reason for the complaint first surfaced, a copy of the complaint should be sent to the Cadet Executive Officer at County Headquarters.
(In the event that the involvement of the Detachment Commander may be detrimental to the complaint and or is the reason for the complaint please direct your correspondence to the relevant Company Headquarters and the Cadet Executive Officer using the contact details below).

If, in the complainant's opinion, the compliant was treated in an unsatisfactory manner then the complainant may approach the responsible Company Headquarters and request that the complaint be re-examined at that level. Copies of all relevant papers are to accompany the complaint when it is referred to the respective ACF Company Headquarters.
If the matter has still not been resolved to the complainant's satisfaction then the complainant may approach the Cadet Commandant, seeking resolution - again copies of all relevant papers must be provided.
If after all this the matter has still not been resolved then the complainant may approach the Army Cadet Force Association (ACFA) for advice on where next to take the complaint. Only when all other avenues of complaint have been exhausted will ACFA carry out its own review of the complaint.
If, after reviewing such a complaint, the ACFA believes that it has not been sufficiently investigated or that the correct procedure has not been applied, we will request the investigating authority to re-examine any determination that may have been made.
The ACFA's judgments are advisory and ACFA are not liable for any loss or damage arising out of its investigation of any complaint or from the response of any other body to any of the ACFA's findings. The ACFA is under no obligation to make public the findings of any complaint investigation it carries out.
