Inter-service football
Boston Platoon provided a team for the Inter Service football competition held at Boston in February this year.
The team was made up of some of the youngest cadets and the last promoted Jnco, L/Cpl Beard (front far right). Team manager was SI V Kemp (far Left).
The team consisted of Beard (Team Captain), Mockridge (scored 2), Flynn, Walker Alex (scored 1), and Wilson (in goal).
Substitutes were:
Kemp H.
Walker Alice,
Gartshore.
Riches (scored 1) and
Chambers (sub - in goal)
Subs changed round, 2 per game so that every cadet played as part of the team.
Boston came fourth out of eight teams, which is very good for a very young team. The other cadet units all fielded strong senior teams except for the Sea Cadets who also had a young side and came in a good seventh.
