Well done Wirksworth !

Congratulations are due to Wirksworth Detachment who have now been confirmed as raising an incredible £2900 from public donations while bag-packing in Sainsburys Store, Matlock over the pre-Christmas period.
Day One saw the cadets raise £700 for the Chloe Parkes Appeal, a worthy cause inspired by a local girl, for which they have already raised £500 in November. On Day Two the cadets brought in a staggering £1200 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity with a presentation being made to Captain Janet Britland who also helped out during the day. The final day saw the cadets pushing on to raise a further £1000, which will be used to purchase outdoor equipment to be used by The Detachment during expeditions.
Said Detachment Commander, Second Lieutenant Shaun Wood: “I’m incredibly proud of the cadets and adult instructors who were willing to give up their own time before Christmas to support these great causes. Our thanks go to Sainsbury’s and their staff who made us very welcome and enabled this event.”
