How much does it cost?

Initial Cost: (All figures are correct as of January 2012, but are subject to change and will be posted on this site as and when they occur).

Once you decide that the Army Cadets is for you, you will be asked to complete an enrolement and uniform measurement form: there is a one off administration fee of £10. You will be given a full set of uniform which remains in your keep unless you decide to leave, in which case you may return the uniform and incur no further charge. Of course we anticipate that you will grow, so uniform exchange is permitted.

NB: The only thing that you will have to purchase before you can wear your uniform is a set of approved boots (speak to your Detachment Commander about this).

Subs: Each detachment will differ slightly, you can expect to pay between 50p to a £1 per parade night. This money is used to support your training and can go toward special outings. You may also wish to bring a small amount of change to purchase a snack or drink from the 'Tuck Shop' that we call the NAAFI.

Weekend Camps**: There are usually 3 to 4 weekend camps a year lasting from Friday tea time to Sunday tea time. Expect to pay around £10, but this will cover the full cost of your accomodation and food. Again you may wish to bring a little change in case there is an opportunity to buy a snack or drink.

Annual Camp**: Annual camp occurs around the end of July and beginning of August it is for about 10 days including travelling to and from. As with weekend camps we travel to a Regular Army camp and so discipline and good behaviour is very important.

**PLEASE NOTE: The Cheshire Army Cadet Force cannot be held responsible for the loss of personal goods or money, each individual is responsible for their own administration, this will be explained in detail at your initial interview. We do recommend however that parents ensure that they have some means of agreed communication for the entire duration of their son or daughter being away from home.
