Cadets and families enjoy Presentation Evening

Cadets and adults from Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force took part in an award ceremony to showcase their hard work whilst in cadets.

There was plenty to celebrate with lots of awards given out from Duke of Edinburgh awards to adults receiving their second clasp to their medal for 24 years service to the Cadet Force. The Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Mr Chris Parkhouse DL, was invited to present the awards. He expressed what a privilege it was to be invited to such a fantastic evening.

 

The first awards were for cadets who had completed their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh award, these were as follows :-

Cadet Cpl Tuffee, Bronze

Cadet Sgt Lynch, Bronze

Mr Jessiman (ex Cadet Sergeant Major), Silver

 

The next awards were for BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Teamwork & Personal Development in the Community and CVQO ILM Level 2 Young Leaders Awards, these were awarded to:-

The final cadet awards were for 4 Star and SCIC badges and one Master Cadet badge, and were awarded to:-

Cadet Sgt Coulson, 4 star and SCIC

Cadet Sgt Clowes, 4 star and SCIC

Cadet Sgt Lynch, 4 star and SCIC

Cadet Sgt Maj Rudderham, Master Cadet

 

Once the cadets’ awards had been handed out, it was time for the instructors to receive theirs.

The first award was to Major Geoff Hammond. Geoff received the GOC for his service to the Cadet Force and for going above and beyond the call of duty. His dedication to the cadets really shows with the fantastic opportunities he has set up, for example, organising the expeditions to Malta.

The second was to Senior Padre Ryk Parkinson. Ryk received his medal for serving for 12 years in the Cadet Force as well as his commissioning scroll.

The second medal awarded for 12 years service was for Lt Dan Baker.

The final award for the evening was to Major Jay Annis, Jay received his 2nd clasp to his medal. This means that Jay had dedicated 24 years to Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force.

The evening was fantastic and shows just how much time and dedication the cadets and instructors put into the cadets. Mr Chris Parkhouse DL was extremely pleased to be able to present the awards.
