Regimental Sjt Major Receives Award

Colin was a former TA soldier with the 5th Battalion The Royal Green Jackets, and is currently Regimental Serjeant Major to Buckinghamshire (The Rifles) ACF. The qualification was gained by producing a thesis into modern management strategies and reflected his previous role of 6 years as a Company Serjeant Major within the Battalion, managing staff, cadets and detachments.
I found this a very rewarding exercise and reinforced my belief in positive management and the benefits it brings, both to an organisation and individuals.
The certificates were presented by Admiral the Right Honourable Lord West of Spithead GCB, DSC, DUniv and there were many high ranking guests in attendance, including the Secretary for Education and the great, great granddaughter of the King of Thailand. The ceremony took place in The Chapel and Old College, which is the setting for the annual Sovereigns Parade.
