Adult Trg
15.01.12
A great weekend was enjoyed by over 60 adults who attended the first of the Battalion's annual Continuation Training events. The adults were divided into 3 streams. The juniors enjoyed some training on the Garelochhead training area, covering training safety and incident handling, fieldcraft, navigation and skill at arms. In the afternoon they put these skills to test with a team competition. The middle strand had a day at Faslane base learning about shooting coaching and incident handling and improving their shooting and range management skills. The senior strand had a day of briefings and workshops giving them the opportunity to develop the company team and plan for the forthcoming year.
Saturday night saw a fun Burns Supper attended by the new Honorary Colonel, Colonel AK Miller, who presented the prizes for the winning Junior Strand teams! As ever, the evening's traditions of Maj Brown's thespian 'Address to the Haggis', other selections of Burns' poetry and witty toasts to lassies and lads went down well, as did SSI Findlay's rocking disco afterwards!
Sunday morning saw mandatory tests completed along with further training for each of the strands. The day ended with a weary but contented return for all to the four corners of the Battalion's patch.
