Cadet Leadership Course
Taking over CTC Frimley Park for three consecutive weeks each July, the Cadet Leadership Course is renowned throughout the cadet movement for being an all-inclusive, action-packed course to remember. It is aimed at all suitably-qualified cadets over 16, excited at the prospect of a week of arduous physical and mental challenges.
The Cadet Leadership Course is designed to develop cadets' initiative and self-reliance by using the challenging and physically demanding problems of practical leadership. The successful candidates will receive a course report and certificate.
Leadership can be learnt and developed. The aim of our leadership courses is to focus your attention on the personal characteristics you should be trying to develop. The leadership qualities that you learn will serve you well wherever you go and whatever you do.
It is open to any physically fit male or female who is between 16 and 18yrs 9months on the day the course starts and is a member of one of the UK cadet forces. The requirements are as follows:
ACF cadets must have passed APC 3 star.
Combined Cadet Force (CCF) cadets must have passed the Army Proficiency Certificate.
Sea Cadet Corps (SCC) and Air Training Corps (ATC) cadets must have passed the equivalent qualification.
All must have passed and be in date for their Weapon Handling Test.
They must also have passed the relevant fitness tests below:
Male: 30 push-ups (hand/foot version) followed by a 1½ mile run in under 11½ minutes.
Female: 15 push-ups (hand/knee version) followed by a 1½ mile run in under 14 minutes.
